In the IT hub of Cyberabad, where employees often travel alone to work, a whopping 272 cases of outraging the modesty of women were reported till June 2013, compared to 292 such cases in entire 2012. Among 35 cities, Delhi (3880) has accounted for 16% of total crimes followed by Hyderabad (1964) which is 8.1% of total crimes.According to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 83,661 crime incidents against women has been recorded during 2010 to 2012 in AP. It is the highest for any state in the country. A total of 4145 rape cases and 5596 dowry cases have been reported which is 5% and 6.7% of total crime incidents against women.
According to NCRB a total of 2,13,585 cases were recorded in 2010, some 2,28,650 cases in 2011 and 2, 44,270 cases in 2012 in the country. Out of the total 2, 44,270 cases in 2012.AP alone has a record
of 28,171 which is 11.5% of total crime against women in the country.
