Hamid Ansari, the Vice President of India on 28 October 2013 launched the Indian Chambers of Commerce (INCHAM) in Lima, Peru. The launch was done during a function organized by the Embassy of India, Peru and INCHAM. The official website of INCHAM was also launched during the occasion. This launch was done during the visit of Hamid Ansari at Peru. At the time of launch, Manpreet Vohra, the Ambassador of India to Peru and Ravi Krishna, the President of INCHAM and senior officials and business leaders from India and Peru were present on the occasion.
The INCHAM has been created to fill the vacuum between India and Peru commercial and economic relations. INCHAM aims to facilitate Indian Trade and Industry to do business in Peru and other countries of Latin America.

The Indian Chambers of Commerce has been launched the maximize awareness about the business opportunities in both the countries. The INCHAM will also provide information and advisory services. It will also provide an important bridge between businesses and Governments that is very important at the time when the economic relations reaches a take-off stage, as they have between India and Peru.
In past five years, the bilateral trade between India and Peru has gone up by 7 percent. In 2012 the growth rate was 35 percent and in six months of 2013 it has grown by 44 percent. With time Peru had become one of the important Partners from the region for India. The Governments of India and Peru is looking forward to start negotiations for free Trade Agreement, seeing the potential of growth.
