Minnie Mathew takes charge as CAT member

Current AffirsFormer Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew took charge as the Member (Administration) of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Hyderabad Bench at HACA Bhavan on Thursday.

The CAT has been established for adjudication of disputes with respect to recruitment and conditions of service of persons appointed to public services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. It has its principal bench located at Delhi, with benches at various locations across India and one of the benches is located at Hyderabad.

Central Administrative Tribunal:
  • The Central Administrative Tribunal has been established under the amendment of Constitution of India by Articles 323A for adjudication of disputes with respect to recruitment and conditions of service of persons appointed to public services and posts in connection with the affairs of the Union or other local authorities within the territory of India or under the control of Government of India and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
Minnie Mathew:
  • Minnie Mathew belongs to 1976 IAS batch of AP cadre.
  • She had served as the Chief Secretary of AP government earlier.
  • She started her bureaucratic career as a Sub-Collector at Rajampet, later, served as Collector of Hyderabad.
  • She also served as Secretary APPSC, Secretary State Election Commission, Principal Secretary of Industries and also Principal Secretary of Women Development and Child Welfare.
