The State government appointed senior IAS officer V. Bhaskar as chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC). Bhaskar, is now special Chief Secretary (Finance) and is due to retire this month end.
It may be recalled that several power experts, advocates and members of APERC vied for the post. Former chief secretary Minnie Mathew too applied for it. However, chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy cleared the name of Bhaskar. He is appointed for a term of five years from the date of assuming charge.
