As per FAOSTAT, India has become the largest milk producing country in the world in 1997 and her status has been counting since then. During year 2011-12, the estimated Milk production in India is 127.9 million tonnes.
The Annual Average Growth Rate in milk production in India between 2001-02 to 2011-12 was 4.29 percent. However, The estimated production of milk and annual growth rate since 2001-02 is given below:
