Punjab Governor flags off Chandigarh-Amritsar Superfast train

The Chandigarh-Amritsar Intercity Superfast express train was flagged off at Chandigarh today. This will help people of Punjab and Chandigarh to return the same day after paying obeisance at Golden Temple and Durgiana Mandir in Amritsar.

Flagging off the train at the railway station here, Punjab Governor Shivraj Patil said the new service will not only unite the two cities, but also the hearts of the people.He said the Centre has chalked out a plan to connect all religious places in the country by train.
He said Amritsar, Nanded and Anandpur Sahib have already been linked by train.
