Sachin selected for ‘Century of Centuries Award’


Master batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been selected for a special ‘Century of Centuries Award’ by the Sports Journalists’ Association of Mumbai (SJAM) for scoring 100 international hundreds. The awards function will be held at the C.K. Nayudu Hall, Cricket Club of India (CCI) here on Sunday, September 8. Badminton legend Nandu Natekar will be the chief guest. 

Apart from Tendulkar, Merzban Patel has been chosen for the Lifetime Achievement award for unearthing hockey talent in the city for nearly four decades. Other award winners are Aditya Mehta (Snooker), Rahi Sarnobat (Shooting), Mahesh Mangaonkar (Squash), Tanvi Lad (Badminton), Deepika Henry Joseph (Kabaddi), cricketers Abhishek Nayar, Punam Raut, Arman Jaffer and the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team.
