Nuclear-capable Prithvi-II missile successfully test-fired

India on Augast 12th test-fired its home-grown nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Prithvi-II missile from a military base in Odisha, officials said.
The indigenously-developed ballistic missile with a range of 350 km was fired from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Balasore district.
“The missile reached the predefined target in the Bay of Bengal with a very high accuracy — of few metres,” test range director M.V.K.V. Prasad told IANS.
“The test was a hundred per cent success,” he said.
The battlefield missile, with flight duration of 483 seconds reaching a peak altitude of 43.5 km, has the capability to carry a 500-kg warhead.
