The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology inaugurated Data portal of India in New Delhi on 8 August 2013.The portal -www.data.gov.in - is aimed at sharing more and more data as it empowers and connects to policy making. It will also help in bringing more transparency in the system and continuing the information revolution which started with the RTI act.Open Data Application and Data portal is a part of Manmohan-Obama Initiative which allows plugging in all type of data.
