Ishwar Das Rohani, the Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Assembly, died

Iswardas Rohani, the speaker of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly died on 5 November 2013 due to cardiac arrest at Jabalpur. He was the speaker of the assembly of Madhya Pradesh from 2003. He was 67. 

BJP fielded him from the Jabalpur’s Cantt segment for the elections of the state to be held on 25 November 2013. 

About Ishwar Das Rohani
• He was born on 30 June 1946 in Karachi. His family migrated to Jabalpur a year after the partition 
• In 1965 he joined Bharatiya Jan Sangh
• In 1973, he was elected from the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation
• During emergency in 1975 he was in jail for 19 months 
• He was elected as the Deputy Speaker in Madhya Pradesh in 1998
