Prime Minister’s Rojgar Yojana (PMRY) has been discontinued with effect from 2008-09 and a new credit-linked subsidy scheme named Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is being implemented since 2008-09 for creation of self-employment and wage employment by setting up of micro-enterprises in the non-farm sector.
